I'm honestly surprised people are still using alternatives and carrying around all their music locally. It also has the benefit that you can listen to all your music on any PC you can use a web browser on, so awesome to have the whole collection at work without needing to manage the different storage devices. It's like iTunes, only web-based and awesome. If you add a song to a pinned playlist your device will automagically download it, ready for the next time you pick up your phone. Any files that are added or removed and any re-ordering of playlists also syncs. I use it on my N4 and N7 and modify playlists from the browser all the time, I almost exclusively listen to local content and have about 2Gb of music on both devices at any one time, but it's simple enough to chop and change when you're bored of a particular artist or album. To store the music on your device instead of streaming it, simply "pin" the playlists to the device and let it download all the songs on that playlist.
